Lina the owner of Unique Sweets catered a party for 200 Angry Birds super fans. She made an equal number of blue, red and yellow birds as well as green pigs. The box below is all she has left.
From what is left over can you determine what colour Lina should back more of? Can you relate this to the mode when talking about measures of central Tendency?
I think Lina would get back more back of red and green angry birds because they have more and if you put the number of each bird from greatest to least it would turn out that they both have the same number and that is 9.

Lina should back more of the green and red since there is more of them left over. You can relate this to mode because the number that occurs the most is 9, the yellow cupcakes have 4, blue 8 and green and red 9.

i think lina would get back green and red because lina made green and red the same amount and the blue and yellow where the least. so it would be 9 because 9 occurs 2 times, which is the most.
Well, to find the mode of a set of data, you see which number occurs the most in it. Lina has 9 red cupcakes left, 9 green cupcakes left, 4 yellow cupcakes left, and 8 blue cupcakes left. So, that means that the cupcakes that she has the least amount of yellow cupcakes left, so she should make more yellow cupcakes. I can relate this to the mode because Lina could find the mode of the amount of cupcakes to see which colour she needs to make more of. In this case, 9 is the mode, so that means that she doesn't need to make any more red or green ones. Since there are more blue cupcakes than yellow, Lina should make more yellow cupcakes since there are less yellow cupcakes than any other colour.
ReplyDeleteI think that Lina should bring back the red and green cupcakes because there's still a lot of those left. You shouldn't give back the yellow and blue because those are more rare, and hard to get back. This can relate to the mode because, from these cupcakes, the green and red ones are the mode. This can't relate to the central tendancy because the average won't help you choose which colours to bring back. -SARIK
