Identifying Misleading Graphs - Konst Math

Data Management project due Friday!!!!

Rules and Regulations

For your final assignment in data management collection, display and analysis, you will be placed on a fantasy NBA team for  the first round of the NBA playoffs. In class will will have a player draft to determine what NBA players will be on your team. Each team will have 6 players, 5 starters and 1 bench player. The mock playoffs start Saturday so be sure to check if your players play each day.

1. Create a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel to store your data.

2. When players on your team play make sure to track the number of points, rebounds, assists and assists value each player has scored. Points and rebounds are worth what they are and assists are worth half a point each. Stats and schedules can be found at nba.com and espn.com   (go to NBA, click schedules to see when each team plays). Click Scores, then on the specific game and then boxscore, to find stats.

3. You must track every game your players have played and keep track of your teams total points.

4. After 5 games are done you must display your players data in a graph.
5. Create 3 questions about your graph. This is where you will discuss Mean, Median and Mode.
6. Create a stem and leaf plot displaying the data for your team for points, rebounds and assists.
7. Make a prediction about how your team will do the rest of the playoffs based on your data. Justify your reasoning. Also spend some time commenting on the trends shown in data displayed. Some justifications will be based on elimination and injury.
