    How I Remember

    How Do You Remember?
We should always remember the soldiers that sacrificed their own lives to make Canada a better place. I appreciate that they were willing to give up so much for our freedom. Not many people would be as brave or courageous. They have died martyrs, and we thank them. They never knew us and we them, yet they have done more for us than we could ever expect or want from our brave veterans.
You could remember our fearless heroes on November 11 of every year, but you could also show your respect every day in the singing of the national anthem. It's the least we could do for their nobility and it's the least we could do to show them we appreciate all they have ever done.LEST WE FORGET.

You may have noticed that there aren't as many posts on the blog recently. Why, you ask? Well because we are full swing into our Office 365 pilot project, my students have been receiving emails with their everyday tasks attached.

This doesn't mean that the blog is obsolete but rather not our only source of information. Please check here for homework and some updates but the majority of in class tasks will be done through Office 365.

For those needing a blog fix, here is a fun little pic to get your mind working. Place your response in the comment section.

    Wow What a Night

It was a fantastic night at the Talbot Trail XC meet. The weather was perfect the tunes were pumping and so were the Blazer heart beats. It was a great showing by all of our Blazer athletes and it was such a great sense of pride seeing them cross the finish line with the new TT track jersey's.

Our results were awesome but what impressed me more was the positive vibes and energy that the 7M volunteers were passing on to all the runners from every school. You are great Blazers and citizens. You make me very proud to be your teacher and coach.

Special thanks to all the student and staff volunteers that made the day such a great success!

Cereal Box for Tuesday's Math Lesson

Hi parents, I am requesting that each student bring in a box of cereal on Monday for Tuesday's math lesson. I will be teaching surface area and would like the cereal for a hands on lesson. Students may bring the box home after the lesson but I would prefer to donate it to a local breakfast program with your permission. So when you are grocery shopping this weekend if you could purchase a box of cereal that your child could bring in on Monday for class, it would be much appreciated.

    St.Patty's Day

For many centuries, as everyone knows, English monarchs tried to impose their will on Ireland. Queen Elizabeth I, eager to extend the influence of her government, sent a deputy to Cormac MacDermot MacCarthy, who was Lord of Blarney, and demanded that he take the tenure of his lands from the Crown. Cormac set out to visit the Queen and plead for his traditional right to his land, but he despaired for success for he was not fluent of speech. Shortly after starting his journey, he met an old woman who asked him why he looked so forlorn. He told her his story and she said, "Cormac, when Blarney Castle was built, one stone was put into place by a man who predicted no one would ever be able to touch it again. If you can kiss that stone, the gift of eloquence will be conferred upon you." Cormac traveled back to his castle and succeeded in kissing the stone. He then was able to go and address the Queen with speech so soft and words so fair that as long as he lived, he never had to renounce his right to his land. From that time forward, people have traveled from many lands to try to kiss the Blarney stone and receive the "gift of gab" and eloquence of speech.

    1. Which country throughout history was in a power struggle with the of Ireland for their land? _________________________________

     2. Who was known as "Lord of Blarney"? _________________________________

     3. What act did Cormac MacDermot MacCarthy believe allowed him to speech fluently to the Queen? _________________________________ _________________________________ _________________________________

     4. Who told MacCarthy of the legend of the blarney stone? _________________________________ _________________________________ _________________________________

    #IAmCanadianInstacollageProject

With social media taking over the spotlight in the world of marketing, social media sites like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are many companies main marketing push.

I thought a cool project would be to make a piccollage, instacollage or using any collage making app create a collage celebrating Canada!

    Guidelines
    1. Choose a collage app on an iPad, iPod or iphone. Some great options are Instacollage, Piccollage, Picframe, Frame Artist.
    2. Choose a frame for a minimum of 5 to a max of 8 photos.
    3. Take photos that represent Canada to you!
    4. Insert the pictures and edit frames to your liking.
    5. Add a slogan that celebrates your publication.
    6. When you are finished save your collage to the camera roll and tweet it to the hashtag #7MWERCANADIAN
