How To Write A Great Speech

Choose an interesting topic: One that you love, you know about and that will interest your audience. Create a topic sentence that will show the direction or angle of your speech.

Develop your supporting points. (body) Choose the number of points that supports your topic. The best speech will use a combination of stories with facts or stories with statistics.

Write an exciting opening. grab the audience's attention and prepare them for the message you prepared. Your opening should state your topic, your position and your points. A great way to get people's attention is to start your opening with a question. Another possibility is to open with a quote that pertains to your topic or start with something controversial.

Create a compelling closing.Your closing should recap what you were saying in your points, have a story that relates to the audience and have a call to action.

Read and rewrite. Every time you read and rewrite it, you will make it better and know the topic effortlessly.

Practise, Practise, Practise: Say it to stuffed animals, in a mirror, to your family, in the car. The more you practice the better it will be and you will memorize it. It needs to be memorized.
