Thanks to the great organization of the 7M class and the support of our staff and students our Movember fundraiser was a great success. Our one day fundraiser raised approximately $150 to help support my Movember campaign. Thanks to Dalal and Dhruvit for their fantastic announcements and to all who helped out and donated. Supporting charity is great way to help others and build character. What are some other ways to be a better citizen? Post a comment with your thoughts?

ReplyDeleteA great wat to help around the community is raise money for other cancers like breast cancer. Another way to help is, if some couples could adopt a child or a pet because they would want to have a family and a dad or mom.
ANOTHER WAY TO BE A BETTER CITZEN WOULD BE LIKE RUN FOR CANCER JUST LIKE WE DID FOR THE TERRY FOX RUN!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can be a good citizen by helping out at a community center or do voulentary work at an animal shelter.
ReplyDeleteI think that a great way to help our community is to collect canned goods. Or pick up trash. We could also start another fundraiser to help support more cancer.

ReplyDeleteAnd a good way to help out the community and be a good citizen is to donate generously to organizations that don't really get much attention, or pick up litter.
Some other ways to be a good citizen is to volenteer to help with activities within or outside of your school.(e.g. To volenteer to pick up garbage at your park by your house or to volenteer to help out at a summer camp.)Without being paid for your actions.
ReplyDeleteA good way to help around the community is to help other causes by raising money for them. Also a good way to help is to bring your clothes that are in good conditon and give them to familys in need of them because it helps a cause an it is a good help to the familys in need. From brody

ReplyDeleteto help be a better citizen you could also donate to breast cancer treatment centers or you can donate to children who need more food and clean water also to help them build homes to care for the children. you can pick up garbag to clean you city that would also help you to be a better citizen insted of watching things happen insted of doing something about it.
ReplyDeleteI think if you want to be a better citizen you should support more than just one fundraiser eg: breast cancer,terry fox,and so on.I think you should do this for berast cancer and everybody has to wear pink...and by the way nice stash mr.m
ReplyDeleteA good way to be a good citizen, is to fundraise for other things. For example, you could donate some money for the heart and stroke foundation. You could also recycle, and car pool, to help not polute our community. Lastly, if a gurdian would want to have a child to raise, then they could adopt a child or sponser money to a child.
ReplyDeleteA way you can be a better citizen is to donate to not only prostade cancer but other cancers or deseises around the world to. You don't have to donate you could also voulenter to take care (give company) to these sick paitents. Everything you do doesn't have to be from money. You can make a person happy by acompany them.
ReplyDeleteI think you can become a better citizen by supporting fundraisers like movember and getting pledges to help find a cure for cancer, other deaseases and good causes to make the world a less harmful place, also by not doing anything bad so other people dont get hurt or get stuff taken away without doing anything or deseveing it.
ReplyDeleteA great way to help the community is by being a volunteer and by helping people in nursing homes, and making them feel at home. Being a good citizen means helping people even if you know your not getting paid to do it.

Matt thinks that you could give people thier news paper if it's lying on their porch or help people with getting things out of their car so there isn't so much for them to do. Random acts of kindness is a way to help people and be a better citizen
ReplyDeleteI think that you can be a better citizen by doing community service and generally helping out in the community this helps to be a better citizen even though you might be the only one helping out in your community. You can also help out by serving for your counrty I learned this at the Rememberance day assembly when I saw all the kids who were in cadets, brownies, or the girl guides and cubs. These are ways to be a good citizen.

Another way to be a better citizen is helping people who dont have homes and not just donating money but also donating toys, blankets, school supplies, and building a home for them. That's another way to be a better citizen!
ReplyDeleteA good way to be a better citizen would be to go around your neiborhood with a family member or a freind, and pick up garbage around your area to prevent pollution/global warming. Another way to be a better citizaen would be donating money for cancer funraiser, or any other fundraisers to help other people who need the money. (:
