  1. I think that if I had to work at Hussein Khan's factory, I, like almost everybody else, would feel very exhausted every night after work, since you have to wake up really early, work all day with few breaks, and go to bed really late. I would also miss my family like Fatimah, though ocassionally I might get angry at them for giving me up, even though I know they didn't have a choice. However, after the debt is payed and if I get a job that involves a lot of work, I think I'll appreciate the work at the carpet factory a little because I'll be used to working very hard everyday. Over all though, I'll be really glad to get out of the factory.

  3. Since most children start working when they are young, I would be young, too, when I start working. I think that at a young age, I might forget everything beyond the factory. I might lose hope and feel nothing. I think this because Fatima(the narrator) mentioned that her hands worked automatically because she was working for so long that she was used to it.

However, if I do remember other memories, I would be mad at my parents for making me pay their debt at first. But then, I`ll be very depressed, working in such a dull place. Also, at first, I`ll feel disgusted at children cutting their own hands and washing their faces in toilet water, but then, I`ll see that its the only thing we`ve got, so then, I`ll adapt.

  4. I think I might feel tired and mad because I would be working all day on making carpets which would get very tiring and I would be mad because he makes everyone do his dirty work for him and he cant do it himself.I might also feel sad because I would be missing my family if I haven't seen them in 3 years.

  6. If I had to work in Hussien Khan's factory, I would feel depressed because I know that I would never be able to go outside, talk with friends or even use the bathroom whenever I felt lke it. I would underfed, tired and most likely sick all of the time. Most of the other kids who work in factories would feel the depressed because of these reasons.

  7. I would feel very bad and hurt from all the work I would have to do. Also, I would feel mad about not getting to see my family and friends. Finally, I would feel sad that my parents would do such a thing like this to me.

  8. If I had to work in Hussein Khans factory I would feel frightened every time he walked into my loom and I would work my hardest even though I only get 2.5 cents (one rupee) a day, if i did a good job. I would want to get out, escape and get back to my family. I would want to get away from all the other kids that were near me and if i could move to a different country to get away from all this child labour.Somedays I would feel as my family did trade me off for a car but all this work would pay off in the end. One day all the child labourers would go to jail and there would be peace. -Harnoor

  9. Working in Hussein Khan's carpet factory I might feel disrespected for 2 reasons. One is that my parents were willing to give me away just so they didn't have to pay off their OWN debt. Second is that Hussein is making me work harder than I should considering my pay. They all have forgotten that I am a human being just like them.

By the way, those Voki's are so cool. I am going to make one of my own.

  11. If I would have to work in Hussein Khan's factory,I would feel depressed and frustrated. I think this because if I were to live away from my family, friends and home I would miss them a lot and I would struggle to live without them which makes me feel very depressed and frustrated inside. What would also make me frustrated is the fact that I would have to live in a very hot house with dusty floors and would have to work for several hours with a slate by my side with lines, just to break free from that child labor. I also would probably be a "numskull" too because I wouldn't know how to weave/thread a carpet which makes it worse because then he wouldn't erase the lines on my slate. And let's say that I was a numskull: comparing to the little girl Fatima who works really hard and still hasn't been let out for 3 years, I would have to work double the time she did. Therefore, if I had to work in that industry, I would become a numskull and would've been very frustrated and depressed.

  12. If i had to work in Hussein Khan's carpet factory as a child I would be upset and confused. I would feel confused because I wouldn't understand why my parents would make me work to pay off their debt and if they loved me they would work and pay it off themselfs.I ‘d feel upset because I would always work one hour before dawn and until the day is over and would only get an unfair pay. Also I wouldn’t really get to live or have a childhood because I ‘d be working day and night I’d never get to play outside or have a vacation until the debt is paid off, and that would take many year’s so that’s how I would feel if I had to work in Hussein Khan's carpet factory.

  13. If I had to work at Hussein Khan's carpet factory I would be wearing dirty clothes to the factory because i would have to do dirty work. At first I would think it would be fun and would give me something to do. Later on I would think this is a waist of my time. I can be in school trying to get money and not borrow money then work to pay that person back. While I'll be working at the carpet factory I'll be mad because my parents made me go work for them instead of them working. I would also be sad because this is what I would be doing for a really long time. I would also be really tired because I'm just a kid and working until sun set is a really long time. Finally I would be really hungry and thirsty because when a kid starts working we get thirsty. So this is how I would decribe myself working at Hussein Khans carpet factory!

  16. If I had to work in Hussein's carpet factory, I would feel mad and sad. I would feel mad because Hussein doesn't even pay the amount that you want or need and still expects you to to work from morning to night even if your really young. Also I would feel kind of sad because I barley get to see my family since my parents gave me away to work for Hussein.

  19. Hey to add on to what I said before, I would be feeling hatred to Hussain and to my parents for sending me away.I would be mad at Hussain because he worked me almost 24/7,he hardly fed me and I would just plain hate him for making kids so younge work for him when he could do it himself. That's all!

  20. If I worked in Hussein Khan's carpet fatory I would feel frustred becasue I think it's unfair that childern have to work when there so young. I would also feel fustred becasue, you have to work so hard all day every day and only one hour break. Also, I think I would be depressed becasues in factorys it's all dark and there's not very much light so, I think that would make me feel depressed.I would also feel depressed becasue you can't go to school, play video games, go on the computer, play with friends or have a normal childs life.

  21. Dear, Mr. Mousseau

I would feel lonely because no one is there that cares about me, just money. Working when I am a child is no harm to me but if I am chained, then theres a problem. I am okay working for a few hours but not for dusk til dawn. Carpet making is not what I had in mind. I could go for maybe 1 year but not 3 like Fatimah. I would also feel scared because Hussian Khan sounds scary and mean. I would feel worthless because my parents just sold me away like a toy. He gives us cash to pay off dept and he gets me( the worthless toy)
In conclussion I would hate working for Hussain Khan in his factory.

  22. If i worked at Hussein's Khan's factory i would feel really scared because like when Mr. Mousseau said carpet factories are very bad for children
because they can breath in the lent and lent is very bad for the body.
Another reason why i would be scared is, if i wen't to Hussein Khan's factory i wouldn't have my parents or my family it would jut=st be me and i won't know anyone there in the Carpet factory
